The Intel Mac Mini has the 1.1.1 version of the IO80211Family.kext driver file. The chipset is identical to the MacBook Pro. Using this updated driver will fix the problems, and allow you to successfully get an IP address after authenticating with an 802.1x server.

1) Download the 1.1.1 version of the driver (MacBook Pro ships with 1.1.0)

here

2) Back up your copy of the driver which is found in /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext

3) Drag the new driver into the /System/Library/Extensions/ folder

4) Open up a terminal

5) Type:

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/

6) Restart

7) Enjoy!
